Interior design software for New Zealand firms

The D&B Operating System is interior design software for New Zealand design-and-build firms, renovators, kitchen companies and fit-out contractors. Leads, site visits, design rounds, quotations, agreements, projects, site updates, team roles and payments all live in one system. BRANDSWOT Consultancy builds it in India and deploys it white-label on your own domain and branding.

How New Zealand renovation and interior firms work

Most New Zealand interiors work is residential: renovations, kitchens, bathrooms and extensions, with Auckland the biggest market. Commercial fit-outs for offices, retail and hospitality are handled by specialist contractors and builders. Firms are often small, and the owner usually prices, sells and manages the jobs.

Restricted building work must be done or supervised by Licensed Building Practitioners, and building consent may be needed depending on the work. Payment claims under the Construction Contracts Act 2002 follow set rules. GST applies to registered businesses.

Everyday problems it fixes

Built for owner-run teams

In a small New Zealand firm, the owner is often the salesperson, estimator and project manager at once. The D&B Operating System gives that owner one dashboard: pipeline value and conversion by stage, projects running late, money due and overdue, and approvals waiting. As the firm grows, project managers, designers, site supervisors and accounts staff each get a view limited to their own work, so adding people doesn't mean sharing every file with everyone.

From enquiry to handover

  1. Enquiry logged with source and follow-up date.
  2. Site visit booked, measurements and photos saved.
  3. Design rounds and client comments tracked.
  4. Quotation built from your rate cards and approved.
  5. Agreement fixes scope, milestones and payment terms.
  6. Execution runs with tasks, site photos, materials and vendors.
  7. Handover closes snags and records the final payment.

Onboarding, plans and early access

Onboarding is remote, as BRANDSWOT Consultancy has no New Zealand office. New Zealand is many hours ahead of India, so calls are usually set for your afternoon. After a demo and a written quote, the system is deployed on your domain with your branding and workflows. Plans follow team size: Studio for up to 10, Practice for 10 to 30 and Enterprise for anything bigger. Pricing is on request, and the product is in early access.

Invoicing was designed around Indian GST. For NZ GST, payment-claim formats, NZD or data location, tell us your requirement and we'll confirm what's supported.

Joinery and site progress for Auckland firms

Joinery workshops in Auckland and across New Zealand make kitchens, wardrobes and vanities, then install them on renovation and new-build sites. Joinery project management software for them should connect measure, quote, approval, production tasks and installation. The D&B Operating System covers those steps, without a cutting-list module.

For installers and site leads, it works as a site progress app in the phone browser. Photos, material requests and issues reach the office at once, so an owner in Auckland can answer clients without driving to site.

Questions people ask

What is the best interior design software in New Zealand?

There's no single best choice. Compare tools on lead tracking, quotes, variations, site updates, payment claims, roles and branding, and check NZ GST and data needs. The D&B Operating System is one option designed around the design-and-build process. A demo on a real Auckland job is the clearest way to judge it.

Is there an interior design CRM for Auckland firms?

The D&B Operating System includes a CRM for interiors work. Each enquiry gets a source, stage and follow-up reminder, and the full client history stays with the project through design, quotation, execution and handover. Owners see pipeline value and conversion by stage. That helps owner-run teams that sell, price and manage jobs themselves.

Is there a construction project management app for small contractors in NZ?

Yes. It runs in a phone or laptop browser with nothing to install. The Studio plan for up to 10 people covers CRM, quotations, invoices, projects, tasks, site updates and owner, designer and site roles, which suits a small renovation team. Pricing is on request after a demo, based on your team size and the modules you need.

Does it support NZ payment claims?

Milestone invoices and part-payment tracking are built in, but we don't claim the system produces payment claims in the form the Construction Contracts Act requires. Tell us your format and we'll confirm what's supported. Many firms keep their accounting software for GST and formal claims, and use the D&B Operating System for projects, variations and payment tracking.

Can clients approve work through it?

Clients can approve quotation versions, and their design comments sit in one thread, under your brand. For a fuller client portal, tell us your requirement and we'll confirm what's supported. With approvals on the project record, variations are easier to support when you raise a payment claim or settle a question at handover.
